AMAZON ORDERS “ELECTRIC DREAMS” FROM RONALD D. MOORE & BRYAN CRANSTON

Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore and Bryan Cranston land series order from Amazon.

Streaming site Amazon has given a 10-episode order to the sci-fi series PHILIP K. DICK’S ELECTRIC DREAMS, executive produced by Ronald D. Moore, Michael Dinner, and Bryan Cranston. Sony Pictures is the studio.

The anthology series is based on the short stories by Dick and will feature Cranston in one episode which will be written by Moore and Dinner. Each episode will be a stand-alone story based on one of the shorts. Dick’s previous works have been adapted into such well-known projects as Blade Runner, Total Recall, and Minority Report.

Channel 4 and AMC previously developed the project last spring but when Channel 4 was ready to give a green light, AMC dropped out. Amazon is a natural fit for the series as the streaming site is already home to the critically acclaimed Man in the High Castle, also written by Dick.

Moore is well-known for his sci-fi and fantasy projects. His previous television credits include Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and the current Starz series Outlander. He executive produces with Maril Davis through their Tall Ship Productions. Dinner produces through Rooney McP Productions. Other EPs include James Degus, Isa Dick Hackett, Kalen Egan, Christopher Tricario, David Kanter, Matt DeRoss, Lila Rawlings, Marigo Kehoe, and Kate DiMento.

This is the second project for Cranston with the site as he already co-stars and is an executive producer on Sneaky Pete. He will next be seen on the big screen in Power Rangers.
